Russian-Norwegian Fisheries Commission gathers again

The Russian delegation is headed by deputy chairman of the State Fisheries Committee Anatoly Makoyedov and includes above 20 persons representing Murmanrybvod, PINRO research institute and Arctic department of the Russian federal frontier guard.

The session will be working till November 8th. The main points on the agenda are the assessment of stocks and defining fisheries management guidelines for 2003 concerning cod, haddock, capelin, Greenland halibut, saithe, crab, shrimp and seals. The two states will also discuss licensing procedures, joint research projects and other issues connected with fisheries in the Barents and Norwegian Seas.
