First steps of Gigante Murmansk
Posted on Friday, November 1, 2002

Gigante Murmansk, a newly born Russian-Norwegian joint venture, started to process its first raw material last Saturday. 500 tonnes of fresh herring were delivered to Murmansk by the Norwegian trawler “Nordfisk”.

One of these days, the first cargo of frozen herring will be sent to Moscow, unless it finds its buyer among the Murmansk businessmen.

The Norwegian crew, who did not previously have experience of working with Russian processors, were surprised at the high organizational level displayed by the company.

The management of Gigante Murmansk, in their turn, noted the high quality of the fish supplied by Norwegians.

The next fish delivery is expected at Gigante Murmansk as soon as this week.
