DOF Industri AS building in Russia
Posted on Monday, October 28, 2002

The hull of a new fishing vessel, the trawler-seiner 'H.?stervold', has been launched in Vyborg, Russia.
Designed by Vik-Sandvik engineers, it was built at the Vyborg Shipbuilding Yard by the order of the Norwegian shipowner DOF Industri AS.

This was already the fifth order placed by DOF Industri with the Russian shipbuilder over the last two years. The cooperation has been expanding gradually: at first, the job of Russians was only to make the hull of a vessel, which was then accomplished in Norway.

This time, the Russian shipbuilder was also entrusted to install the basic equipment, including the main engine, shaft-driven generator and the steering system.

The $6.7 million project was financed by the Russian bank 'Saint-Petersburg'.

DOF Industri has decided to continue this promising partnership and signed a contract for building two more vessels of the same type at the shipbuilding yard in Vyborg.
