Foreign citizens must obtain a special permit to visit some places in Russia

The Russian government has passed a list of territories, establishments and organizations, for entrance to which foreign citizens must obtain a special permit.

The list includes:
- Closed administrative-territorial units.
- Territories with specially regulated visiting by foreign citizens.
- Territories governed by the martial law or in state of emergency.
- Territories affected by epidemics or mass spread of infectious and non-infectious diseases.
- Closed military units.
- Zones of anti-terrorist operations.
- Environmental disaster zones.
- Frontier zones.
- Enterprises and organizations attached to the Armed Forces of the Russian Federation.
- Territories of the governmental bodies or other institutions directly related with information that constitutes a state secret.
- Other territories, institutions and divisions, prohibited for entrance to the citizens of Russian Federation without a special permit.
