Sevrybkholodflot’s major shareholder is taken into custody for planning a murder
Posted on Tuesday, September 3, 2002

Albert Levanov, one of the major shareholders of Sevrybkholodflot, a Murmansk-based fishing company, arrested in Karelia and under investigation.

On August 12, 2002, the City Court of Petrozavodsk (Karelia) resolved on arresting of Mr Levanov for allegedly having planned a murder of his main business competitor Mr Blinsky, Vice President of Sevrybkholodflot’s Board, who in his turn also owns a big stake in the company and possesses information on how the shareholders’ funds are used.

As the court’s finding stated, “Levanov had provided the assumed hired assassin with a detailed plan of Blinsky’s private house in Murmashi and of his room in the company office, and also supplied him with information on cars’ particulars Blinsky and his wife were using, and handed over his photo. He had also considered and discussed the method of assassination and all details necessary for it to be committed. Levanov had threatened Blinsky by having told the latter of his plans. Therefore, Albert Levanov is suspected of arranging a murder that is intentional causing another person’s death, out of mercenary motives.”
