Quotas 2003 determined

On Friday, 8 November, participants of the 31st session of the Joint Norwegian-Russian Fisheries Commission came to an agreement on long-term common management of Barents Sea stocks. The agreement covers three-year quotas for cod, haddock, capelin and crab and begins in 2004.

 

For next year, total fishing quotas were determined as follows:

cod - 395 000 tonnes plus 40 000 tonnes of inshore catches;

haddock – 101 000 tonnes;

capelin – 310 000 tonnes;

crab – 800 000 pcs (the Norwegian share - 200 000 pcs).
